Best Cloud Consulting Company in India for Startups and SMEs
Cloud and engineering editorial team
Compare Indian cloud consultants using architecture, security, reliability, cost ownership, migration planning and operational handover—not provider logos.
The best cloud consulting company is not the provider that recommends the largest architecture. It is the team that matches reliability, security and operating effort to the value of the workload—and leaves your company able to understand the result.
Disclosure: Gavior provides AWS, Azure, Google Cloud and infrastructure services. This guide explains how to compare our approach with any other cloud consultant.
Define the cloud outcome before choosing a provider
“Move to the cloud” can describe very different projects:
- Launching a new website or API
- Migrating an existing application
- Improving uptime and recovery
- Reducing an unpredictable cloud bill
- Separating development and production
- Preparing a SaaS product to scale
- Meeting a customer security requirement
Write the outcome, constraints and acceptable downtime before discussing services. Otherwise, vendors will estimate different projects and their prices will not be comparable.
Cloud consulting scorecard
| Area | Weight | Evidence to request | | --- | ---: | --- | | Architecture fit | 20 | Diagram with assumptions and rejected alternatives | | Security | 15 | Identity model, secrets, network boundaries and logging | | Reliability | 15 | Failure scenarios, recovery targets, backup and restore test | | Cost ownership | 15 | Budget, tagging, forecast and cost-review process | | Delivery | 15 | Infrastructure as code, environments and deployment plan | | Operations | 20 | Monitoring, alerts, runbooks, access and handover |
The AWS Well-Architected Framework evaluates workloads across operational excellence, security, reliability, performance efficiency, cost optimization and sustainability. Azure and Google Cloud publish comparable architecture frameworks. A consultant should translate those principles into decisions appropriate to your workload, not paste every recommendation into a small-business proposal.
Microsoft’s Cloud Adoption Framework for Azure is another useful reference because it connects technical implementation with strategy, planning, governance and management. The consultant should be able to explain both the build and the operating model.
AWS, Azure or Google Cloud?
Platform choice should follow context:
- Existing Microsoft identity, licences and internal skills may favour Azure.
- A broad service ecosystem and common startup architecture may favour AWS.
- Data, analytics or existing Google tooling may favour Google Cloud.
- A small predictable workload may be simpler on a managed platform or VPS.
Provider credits are useful, but temporary credits should not hide the steady-state cost. Ask for an estimate after credits expire.
Security begins with account ownership
Your company should own the root or billing account, production subscriptions/projects, domains and recovery contacts. Consultants should work through named identities and least-privilege roles—not shared passwords.
Ask for:
- Multi-factor authentication
- Separate production access
- Secrets outside source code
- Central logs and alert ownership
- Backup retention and restore evidence
- A process for removing former team access
Reliability must be proportional
High availability across regions may be essential for a critical platform and wasteful for an early prototype. Define recovery time and recovery point expectations in business language. “We can tolerate four hours offline and one hour of data loss” creates a more useful design constraint than “enterprise-grade uptime.”
Red flags
- Architecture before workload discovery.
- One shared administrator account.
- No estimate of recurring provider cost.
- Backups configured but never restored in a test.
- Production changes made manually with no record.
- Monitoring that sends alerts to nobody accountable.
- The consultant owns the billing account.
Where Gavior may fit
Gavior is suited to startups and SMEs that need launch infrastructure, cloud setup, CI/CD, VPS migration or a clearer operating baseline without building an oversized platform. Our cloud solutions, DevOps service and public pricing guide define practical starting points.
We may not be the right fit for a buyer requiring a global 24/7 managed-service desk, a provider-specific resale agreement, or a formal compliance certification delivered solely by the infrastructure consultant.
Questions before signing
- What failure and recovery targets are we designing for?
- What will the cloud cost after credits?
- Which accounts will our company own?
- What is automated through infrastructure as code?
- How are backups restored and verified?
- Who receives and acts on alerts?
- What documentation and access do we receive?
The best cloud consulting company builds enough reliability for the business, makes cost visible and leaves ownership with the customer.
